The Level 3 Award in Education and Training – why do it?

This qualification (previous known as PTLLS) is the first rung on the trainer ladder! It gives you the foundation of being either a class tutor, for example in a college, or a trainer, maybe in the commercial world.

What’s in it? Well the requirement is that you complete 3 units from the 6 available. Unit 1 is mandatory and provides a clear basis for Understand Who’s Who and What’s What in the education & training world.

Then you choose one other unit which is focused on delivery of learning –‘teaching’ if you are just starting out this will be Unit 2, if you are already teaching/training you can choose unit 2, 3 or 4 to suit what you are doing currently.

Finally it’s the Assessment Unit….we all need to understand how assessment fits in with the crucial role of helping people to learn, it’s our way of checking to see if what we have done has had impact.
